Join the Design Process SIG and the Design Practice SIG, together with Chalmers University of Technology, for an interactive two-day research workshop on how AI is transforming engineering design. Building on our workshops at DESIGN 2026 and NordDesign 2026, we will explore where AI is already changing design practice and processes – and where the critical research gaps lie, both in its effects on processes and in how engineers work, collaborate and understand their role.
Through igniting talks from academia and industry, short contributions from participants and interactive group work, we will jointly build a first map of this transformation and define priorities for future research and collaboration. Researchers, practitioners, educators and tool developers are all welcome – bring your project, your industrial case or simply your questions!
