New Special Interest Group (SIG)

Data Informed Design

SIG Leaders: Bastian Quattelbaum and Kostas Stylidis

Data Informed Design is the Design Society community's newest Special Interest Group (SIG), formed in December 2022. The primary goal of Data-Informed-Design (DID) is to provide design practitioners with tangible, relatable anchors to direct activities towards critical design features and enable design management to introduce more objectivity in their decision-making. The DID approach is partly motivated by current design practice, which heavily depends on designers’ tacit knowledge.
