Knowledge Base Repository

In addition to research papers, the Design Society is developing several valuable resources for those interested in the study of design. These include a repository of PhD theses, a library of case studies and transcripts of design activities, and an archive of our newsletters. Abstract:
Improving decision support in the maintenance planning process by utilising maintenance data is in literature considered to hold a great potential. This study proposes a principle for linking failure history to a multi-classification model of existing systems as a mean of improving decision support when the frequency of failure observations is low. The case study indicates a potential for the principle to provide support for key decisions in the corrective maintenance planning process by enabling similarity comparison of failures across the system.
