Abstract:
This research set out to develop a method to stimulate concept creation in building design processes by applying C-K theory of Hatchuel and Weil. To demonstrate the application of this abstract theory a design method was used: Integral Design. The approach was tested on the results of series of workshops in which more than 100 experienced professionals participated. This enabled us to focus on the generation of concepts, the thinking outside the box. Using Integral Design is was possible to draw the box and see where in the process thinking outside the box occurred.
