Personalizing Your Dashboard Experience
1. Customize Your Profile
After logging in to your Dashboard, you can personalise your public profile by adding a profile photo and updating personal information, including language and regional preferences. This helps the Society present content and connections that are most relevant to you.
2. Tailor Content by Interest
Your profile details help the system surface resources most aligned with your interests—for example, enabling you to see research updates, events, and Special Interest Group (SIG) content that match your focus areas.
3. Manage Your Subscriptions and Notifications
Within the Dashboard, you can update your subscriptions and newsletter subscriptions, set preferences for SIG updates, and select notifications that match your research or design practice interests.
4. Secure Your Account
The Dashboard allows you to change your password and manage subscriptions quickly, ensuring your account remains secure and up to date at all times.
How to Adjust Content Preferences
1. Log In to Your Dashboard
2. Navigate to Your Profile Settings
- Click on your name or profile icon (usually at the top center).
- Select "My Profile".
- Update your research interests, SIG involvement, or disciplinary focus.
- These fields help the platform match you with relevant content like papers, SIG activities, and event recommendations.
3. Choose Your Subscriptions and Notifications
- Go to "Subscriptions", "Email Preferences", or "Notification Settings" within your dashboard.
- Select newsletters, event alerts, or SIG updates you want to receive.
- Opt in or out of communications based on topic areas, event types, or geographic regions.
4. Follow Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
- Browse SIGs via the main Design Society site and add them to "Groups of Interest” on the dashboard.
- Click “Join SIG” or add ”Bookmark” or ”Heart” (where available).
- This ensures you receive tailored content related to those groups directly in your dashboard or inbox.
5. Save Changes
Always click “Save” after making edits to ensure your preferences are applied.
