Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) SIG
The Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) SIG explores new design models, computational methods, and tools that integrate design and AM processes. It was created to address the need to better exploit AM’s unique capabilities in design, bridging gaps between material behaviour, manufacturing constraints, and design freedom in both industrial and academic contexts.
Call for Applications: the roles of SIG leader and co-leaders
With the aim of ensuring the continued relevance of the Design Society within the field of Additive Manufacturing, the Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) Special Interest Group (SIG) is looking for a new motivated leader and two co-leaders. These leaders will continue the SIG mission of exploring new design models, approaches, computational methods, and tools that integrate design and Additive Manufacturing (AM). Founded in 2015, the DfAM SIG is now approaching its second leadership change, aiming to appoint new, fresh minds to continue strengthening the Design Society’s role in AM.
The work of the new leader and of the two co-leaders will be supported by the DfAM SIG Steering Committee. All appointed leaders must accept and comply with the information and rules provided in Section 3 of the Design Society Handbook available at this link.
Information on eligibility requirements, application procedures, and selection criteria, is available in the CfA document on this webpage and here.
Deadline
Applications will be considered eligible if sent via email as previously described and by Friday, April 24, at 12:00 (UK Time).
