Abstract:
Managing complexity is a crucial success factor building highly integrated technological products as submarines are. Facing this challenge thyssenkrupp Marine System developed a methodical approach combining Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) with modular product family design. To ensure applicability a product architecture model is developed and realized by a software tool. The underlying meta-model is enhanced with domains and partial models supporting modularization.
