Abstract

Linkography [Goldschmidt 1995] is a promising method for analyzing idea generation processes. Whren using linkography, the researcher limits him- or herself to assessing whether there is sufficient evidence for a link between each possible combination of ideas to be present (or not). We attempted to strengthen the linkography approach by investigating the potential for using situational -or context- evidence, in addition to similarities in subject matter. This could enhance the reliability of linkography as a method for data analysis. The first objective of this paper is to understand the nature of context indicators for links. The second is to understand their relative importance for determining links between ideas.
