Knowledge Base Repository

In addition to research papers, the Design Society is developing several valuable resources for those interested in the study of design. These include a repository of PhD theses, a library of case studies and transcripts of design activities, and an archive of our newsletters. Abstract:
If companies are to gain advantage from adopting STEP (STandard for the Exchange of Product model data [ISO303]) then the gap between the application context of an Application Protocol (AP) and the requirements of the engineering process chain must be bridged. This paper illustrates a way in which general purpose data models, such as those in a STEP Application Protocol, can be used to support the definition of product families.
