Abstract:
Modular Function deployment (MFD) is a method for the creation of modular product design, using the concept of "module drivers" [1]. It has been applied in a number of modularisation projects e.g. mobile winches, car doors and fronts, fifth-wheels for heavy trucks, draw bar couplings, servo drives and vacuum cleaners. Experiences from two of these cases are discussed in this paper..
