Abstract:
This paper presents a Voronoi-based design concept for biomimetic lattice structures with a focus on bone implant applications. Based on specified boundary conditions, the study derives a parametric process for generating adaptive, reproducible lattices. Different seed point strategies, including stochastic and micro-computed tomography-based approaches, are implemented and compared with regard to specific cell metrics. The workflow is realized using the software demonstrator SliceIT developed at the Chair of Virtual Product Developement. The proposed approach provides a foundation for patient-specific, biomimetic implant design.
