Knowledge Base Repository

In addition to research papers, the Design Society is developing several valuable resources for those interested in the study of design. These include a repository of PhD theses, a library of case studies and transcripts of design activities, and an archive of our newsletters. Please note that these resources are accessible exclusively to Design Society members.

Abstract:
roduct requirements, product elements and production processes. Based on this, a change propagation analysis is presented. Initially, alternative technical solutions are generated to fulfill a specific change request. The change impact on both product and production is determined for each alternative. To identify the most cost-effective solution, the overall change costs of each alternative are calculated. Finally, the method is applied to the example of an asynchronous motor design to demonstrate the model’s practical utility.
