Knowledge Base Repository

In addition to research papers, the Design Society is developing several valuable resources for those interested in the study of design. These include a repository of PhD theses, a library of case studies and transcripts of design activities, and an archive of our newsletters. Abstract:
The prediction of the mechanical properties of structural elements using advanced finite element analysis is an important part of the product development process of light weight structures. In this context, the term virtual testing has been established. This term refers to a complex system of hier archical models, structural tests and analysis methods with the objective of ensuring
the fidelity of the simulation. The present contribution introduces an approach for developing virtual test methods for sandwich structures using the example of potted honeycomb sandwich inserts.
