Abstract:
The focus of this paper is the dilemma between the flexibility to react on different customers demands and the wish to standardise products to createeconomical benefits. Several methodical approaches are analysed due to facts of e.g. flexibility, product strategy, technical- functional aspects and customer requirements. The deficits of the approaches are shown and based on them a new concept for a guideline is depicted to structure products including new developments.
