Abstract:
To enable substantial progress in the context of lightweight design the early design steps have to be exploited adequately. Hereby the deployment of appropriate simulation techniques is very promising. Within the present paper a simplified approach to enable the simulation of short fiber reinforced polymers using a layer-based approach is introduced. The focus of the paper is the description of a simplified method enabling the consideration of the anisotropic behavior resulting from the manufacturing process.
