Abstract:
Using the Wayfaring model in the Fuzzy Front End of product development can aid designers in uncovering and answering ambiguous design questions. However, it does not aid the challenge of combining insights and concepts in a final conceptual prototype, or to measure how well e.g. a medical task trainer prototype is fulfilling the training goals. The necessity of a standardized testing framework for such prototypes is explored by presenting a case project where a medical task trainer was developed. The frameworks potential as a development tool for medical task trainers is also discussed.
