Knowledge Base Repository

In addition to research papers, the Design Society is developing several valuable resources for those interested in the study of design. These include a repository of PhD theses, a library of case studies and transcripts of design activities, and an archive of our newsletters. Abstract:
Mycelium biocomposties (MBs) are emerging as viable green alternative to hydrocarbon based insulation materials; with comparable thermal, sound and fire safety characteristics. These new materials can utilize low cost, abundant and agricultural waste, importantly making them biodegradable and an integral part of a circular economy. As my MBs are grown rather then assembled wide variation in material properties can be achieved depending on several growth parameters. If combined with emerging technology such as 3D printing, novel organic structures can be optimize for environment requirements.
