The Design Society Chat Room: Successful Transition to Online Teaching

Friday 28th August 2020 at 3pm BST

The Design Society Chat Room are organising a discussion on the challenges we face in Design Education and the transition to online teaching and learning. We would like to invite those with case studies of successful development of online courses to apply to present as part of an upcoming Chat Room.

You will have 10 minutes to present slides on your Successful Transition to Online Teaching, followed by questions to encourage discussion. We aim to have three presentations during the session. The session could be an opportunity to gain some early feedback, such as, in preparing to write a paper on your class or before the redevelopment of the class for future years.

Guest speakers

  • Katharina Dühr M.Sc of Karlsruhe Institute of Technology - Paper on Improving Communication Process from DESIGN 2020.
  • Dr. Stanko Škec of University of Zagreb - ELPID programme
  • Assoc. Prof. Bryan Howell of Brigham Young University - Upcoming E&PDE Paper on Digital Tools for Education
