Abstract
A product development process can help in understanding of the complex system dynamics involved in the designing of a Wave Energy Converter (WEC). Identification of the key risks and uncertainties at the early stages of design is crucial. A systematic and value analysis design approach provides an effective way to develop a successive product in a cost effective manner. In this paper, a preliminary design process for development of a winch based point absrober WEC is suggested.
