A step by step development of electromagnet apparatus for dynamic squeeze/compression test of the MREs was delivered in this report. The magnetic circuit analysis was firstly established to estimate roughly the electromagnet performance. The apparatus design was conducted to show the three-dimensional appearance of the equipment. Material selection was performed instantaneously during magnetostatic simulation setup. The magnetostatic simulation is performed through open source finite element software namely FEMM. The simulation was conducted in two conditions those were empty chamber and with MREs specimen. The validation of simulation was performed by comparing the flux generated within the specimen chamber and the real measurement from the prototype. The captured data from finite element simulation shows agreement with the real measurement. Therefore, the model can be modified by placing the MREs into the specimen chamber. The distribution of magnetic flux within the MREs was different to the value of magnetic flux within the air gap because of difference magnetic properties between them.
