Abstract

In this paper, the realization of the characteristic-property-modelling (CPM) approach within a PDM-System has been shown. It has also been demonstrated, how parts and assemblies can be integrated into a database including their characteristics and properties. In addition, a method has been implemented that shows how this information can be extracted out of CADfiles. These files have also been used to identify interfaces between different parts. Currently we are working on the assignment of characteristics and properties to these interfaces. This will help us to identify the importance and sensitivity of interfaces regarding to design changes. Furthermore this will support the planning of simulations.
