Abstract
To meet the changing requirements of today’s markets, variety-oriented product development becomes more and more important. The integrated PKT-approach for Developing Modular Product Families provides methodical tools to support this task and has been successfully tested in industry. Nonetheless, evaluation of these applications has shown room for improvement regarding the user-friendliness and work effort. Especially the models used to visualize and improve product families in development seem to be a promising field of improvement. In this contribution, an adapted model for the analysis of product variety is presented as a first step in this regard.
