Abstract:
Metamodels developed for predefined target quantities require adaptation or retraining when additional targets are introduced. This paper presents a methodical approach for developing reusable metamodel-based design workflows by modularizing recurring relationships and preserving the information-rich output of the underlying data source. This output is used as a reusable interface for target extraction and downstream assessments. Applied to clinch-joint design, implicit neural representations reconstruct joint geometry and process-induced fields. Geometric targets are extracted from this state, while graph neural networks use it for force and fatigue prediction. Overall, the results demonstrate that recurring relationships can be modelled once and their information-rich outputs reused across multiple target quantities and assessment tasks without adapting the upstream metamodels.
