Abstract:
Multi-brand product development involves the collaboration of multiple brands within shared development programs while maintaining brand-specific organizational structures, processes, and decision-making mechanisms. The resulting heterogeneity creates complex interfaces that require coordination across organizational, process-related, and governance-related dimensions. This contribution derives a conceptual framework for the systematic identification and analysis of such interfaces. Developed following a design research approach, the framework structures interfaces along the three dimensions and provides a method-oriented procedure for their analysis. The resulting framework enables a structured examination of coordination challenges in multi-brand product development processes.
