Abstract:
Increasing product complexity challenges the effective use of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), which is still often conducted in a document-centric and weakly connected manner. This paper proposes a dependency modelling framework for integrating SysML product models and failure logs into a unified Knowledge Graph (KG). The SysML product model is structured according to requirements, functional, logical, and physical layers, while failure-log information is organized using FMEA-related ontology concepts. The method analyses selected SysML and FMEA relations, their semantics, and their binary relation properties in order to establish a formal basis for subsequent rule-based reasoning. The resulting framework provides a semantically structured foundation for linking product model dependencies with safety-relevant knowledge and supports future knowledge derivation for FMEA within an MBSE compatible environment.
