Abstract

Smart Machine Elements offer a possibility to gather data of the actual state of the process of a machine by sensing close to the interesting process and being applicable in an easy way. First investigations have shown, that tolerances and clarity of Force Transmission can be crucial to a sensed signal. In this study the influence of tolerances and friction are discussed on a fric-tion based shaft-hub connection and a form fit shaft-hub connection. Results show the friction based shaft-hub connection is more robust than the form fit shaft-hub connection.
