Abstract

Dynamic test are mostly performed in specific test setups with adjustable
boundary conditions and relevant aspects of the product environment. The
dynamic characteristics of the environment and boundary condition are represented
by dynamic connection elements. The Impedance, frequency depending
ratio of reaction force and deflection speed, can be used to describe the
dynamic properties of dynamic connection elements. In the first part of this
article two demonstrator systems are introduced to explain the current challenges
in dynamic testing and specify the need for a machine element with
adjustable impedance. In the second part of this article the design approach
and performance of the current adjustable impedance element is introduced.
In the last part the planned collaboration between three research facilities is
introduced to tackle the current challenges in dynamic testing by applying the
adjustable impedance element to existing test setups.
