Abstract

A field study to identify the role of environmental certification and design factors that influence sustainable purchasing of Chilean consumers decisions, was made. A mixed quantitative and qualitative environmental communication strategy was designed and applied in to a product packaging prototype, testing it on a comparative survey. Result defined that, the use of environmental believable quantitative information mixed with a qualitative governmental certification, combined with the use of an ecological packaging were effective, increasing the sustainable purchasing on Chilean consumers.
