Abstract

In this paper, the typical product development process for spatial Molded Interconnect Devices (3D-MID), the underlying product model as well as the addition of an optical partial model are presented. The methodology of integrating mechanical and electronic layout design will be discussed. At this juncture, it will be shown which specific steps are necessary for the development of products made in MID technology. This is followed by a description of the extension of electromechanical CAD data by an optical data model. The methodology of data collection for the optical partial model is also explained.
