Founded in 2015 the DesignCPS-SIG is a forum to discuss and prepare a roadmap for Methodologies for the Design, Integration, Modeling and Simulation of Cyber Physical Systems. This workshop provides an overview of different kinds of systems and focuses on the transition process from mechatronics to CPS and cloud-based (IoT) systems. Main criteria are the classification of the driving forces and necessary technologies. So a cyber-physical system is a system of collaborating computational elements controlling physical entities. These systems can be found in areas such as aerospace, automotive, energy, healthcare, manufacturing, entertainment, and consumer appliances. With the consideration of several case studies we deal with the main research questions, identifies in the last workshops (Which classification of CPS is necessary and what are the characteristics of a CPS?).

The DesignCPS-SIG (Methodology for Design, Integration, Modeling and Simulation of Cyber Physical Systems) aims to initiate a research roadmap for the development of methods, tools and methodologies for designing Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) through addressing the following objectives: • Performance of CPSs (Multivariable key performance indicators, Methods for cross-domain aggregation for performance evaluation) • Methods and tools supporting CPS-Design • Model-based Systems Engineering for...
