The 2nd International Symposium on Industrial Engineering and Automation (ISIEA 2023), an initiative of the Industrial Engineering and Automation macro-area of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, will take place in Bolzano, South Tyrol, Italy, 22 - 23 June 2023.

ISIEA welcomes contributions on innovation, transformation and digitalization of the industry, as well as their repercussions. With the upcoming second edition, we aim to make ISIEA an increasingly relevant venue to discuss and present new research findings on digitalization in design & manufacturing, Industry 4.0/5.0, industrial applications of Artificial Intelligence, learning factories, robotics, design of cyber-physical systems, among the others. The special theme of ISIEA 2023 is “Towards a Smart, Resilient and Sustainable Industry”, which expands the topics of interest for the symposium. A number of special tracks address additional topics, out of which many address design.

Contributions are welcomed by DS members. All accepted papers will be published in the ISIEA 2023’s proceedings, which will form a volume of Springer’s Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems – Scopus-indexed. The upcoming deadline for the submission of full papers has been extended to 26 February 2023. A panel of internationally renowned scientists will review all papers.
