The Design Society and the Stanford Center for Design Research cordially invite you to participate in the International Conference on Engineering Design, ICED'09. The venue will be Stanford University’s verdant campus in the heart of Silicon Valley, a short 35 miles south of San Francisco, California.
Research papers and case studies are solicited on any topic related to design thinking, theory, and practice, with a premium placed on evidence-based research.
Topics and Themes include:
* Design Processes and Practice
* Design Theory and Research
* Human Behavior in Design
* Methodology and Tools
* Design-FOR-X and Design-TO-X
* Design Organizations and Management
* Design Education and Life-Long-Learning
* Design Information and Knowledge Management
Papers are expected to be about 10 pages in length and those that are accepted in a double-blind review will be published in the proceedings. Please note that unlike at previous ICED conferences, there will be no option to submit an abstract before the paper submission.
Key dates are as follows:
15 January 2009 at midnight (Pacific Standard Time) - Full paper submission deadline
15 April 2009 – review results sent to authors
1 June 2009 – final paper to be uploaded and authors registered
15 June 2009 –program posted
23 August 2009 – arrive at Stanford
24-7 August 2009 Conference
